Porcellioornatus “Chocolate High Yellow” areamazing Isopods that have rows of yellow across a chocolate colored carapace. These are native to Spain, and are a classic large Spanish species. Our isopods are fed Iso-licious Isopod Food 1-2x a week, including our new wet mixes, supplemented with potatoes, squash, carrots, our leaf powder, and a cuttlebone. These isopods enjoy warm temperatures and an occasional misting, but do not do as well in a wet environment. We allow space for a extensivemoisture gradient, starting with one side of the enclosure havingmoist NZ sphagnum moss, the middle beingmostly dry and covered with leaf litter and bark, and onto the oppositeside being bone dry andcovered only with leaf litter. This provides the neededspace for Isopods to osmoregulate to remain in homeostasis. These are semi-arid species and require ventilation for optimal health.
