The Copperband Butterflyfish is suited for the advanced aquarist. It is a peaceful species and is referred to the beaked butterflyfish or beaked coral fish. Its colours are unlike others with a silvery white body, orange stripes outlined with black, and a false eyespot (black dot) on its dorsal fin.
This species is native to many areas within the Indo-Pacific region.

This species is a peaceful fish and when fed adequately can coincide with many other species. It is recommended that they are not housed with any other butterfly fish unless already in an established pair. As they are fast feeders, slow moving tankmates such as seahorse and pipefish are not recommended mates.
Feeding:
Copperband Butterfly fish are carnivores so their diet should consist of a variety of foods including brine and Mysis shrimp. This fish is recommended for the advanced aquarist as they can be picky eaters, especially when first introduced. Copperband Butterflyfish also feed on glass anemones and tubeworms.

Copperband Butterflyfish require a minimum tank size of 250L as they are active swimmers so require large open areas to swim. They also like places to hide and feed in crevices so corals and rocks are a great addition.
