Rotala rotundifolia ‘Blood Red’: has the most intense red colour of the Rotala rotundifolia varieties. A location close to bright green plants will accentuate the red color even more.
The plant is not difficult to grow and can thrive in relatively poor light and fertilizer conditions. To achieve the most intense color, however, abundant light and added CO2 are required.
The growth is upright to slightly overhanging with some side shoots. The plant must therefore be thinned out at intervals, to ensure light and water movement between the stems.
