Remarks: T-Bar Cichlids (Amatitlania sajica) are more colorful than their popular cousin, the Convict Cichlid. They are a great beginner cichlid due to their relatively small size and ease of reproduction. They are aggressive when spawning, which is admittedly a large portion of their time, but they typically limit their aggression to their immediate surroundings.
Males are slightly larger than females and will exhibit a small hump on their forehead.
