Remarks: Green Chromides (Etroplus suratensis) are one of the few cichlids from Asia, and they can be kept in freshwater or brackish water. They occur in mostly brackish estuaries in India and Sri Lanka, where they swim among mangrove roots. They are relatively peaceful except when spawning, and they will happily share a large tank with robust dither fish such as large Cyprinids (Dawkinsia spp.), livebearers, and Rainbowfish.
