Banded Rainbowfish aregenerallyeasy to keep and suited for the beginner aquarist. Theyvary in colour and appearance depending on which waterway they are found.This small slender rainbow is best kept with other small species, otherwise the males may be intimidated by larger tankmates and not show their full colour. Develops attractive mauve and golden colouration when showing breeding colours.“Trifasciata”literally means”three-banded”, which can be seen when you look closely.

Theyare active swimmers and prefer to be kept in shoals of 6 or more in planted yet spacious aquariums. Native to Australia.

Banded Rainbowfishare omnivore’s. They feed on algae and spirulina based foods. This species enjoy live foods such as bloodworms, blackworms and brine shrimp.
